DAY 3, THURSDAY JULY 8

SNAKE RIVER EXPERIENCE / MILLION DOLLAR COWBOY BAR / GUN BARREL PAIRED DINNER

Early 19th century trapper explorers first navigated the Snake River below Jackson Hole. More often than not the river was too treacherous to boat. They called it “The Mad River.” Today’s rafting equipment and safety, combined with regulated river flows make for a much more secure voyage. This morning embark on a float trip down the Snake River, with a choice to be made. White water enthusiasts can brave the Class II and III rapids in specially equipped rubber rafts. The more leisurely minded can select a relaxing, scenic float trip with better opportunities for wildlife photography. Both trips are led by expert guides and provide spectacular views of the Grand Teton Mountains. Return to the hotel at midday. At 6pm depart for cocktails in the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, one of America’s most photographed Western saloons. After cocktail hour depart for the nearby Gun Barrel Steak & Game House for a gourmet meal of local game and specialties, paired with the wines of Schug Carneros Estate. (B,D)

DAY 4, FRIDAY JULY 9

ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES / GROS VENTRES WILDERNESS

Today explore the Bridger-Teton National Forest on your own single rider ATV or a two passenger Side-by-Side ATV. The guided trip includes some 2 hours on the trail with great mountain scenery. This is an excellent way to experience some of the Teton Valley’s most beautiful backcountry. At 6pm enjoy a private tasting of Schug Carneros Estate wines with Axel. Dinner is at leisure tonight. Your Expanding Horizons escort can assist with dinner reservations at some of Jackson’s more in-demand dining spots like the Snake River Grill or The Local restaurant.(B)

DAY 5, SATURDAY JULY 10

OPTIONAL TOURS / BAR-J RANCH CHUCKWAGON SHOW

After three busy days today is not pre-planned. We recommend choosing an activity or experience that will cap your stay in Jackson Hole. Highly recommended is a half day wildlife tour into Grand Teton National Park to view the National Elk Refuge. Along Antelope Flats and Mormon Row see bears, moose, antelope and bison. Return to the hotel by midday. In the afternoon the artistically minded can explore the National Museum of Wildlife Art, where a museum docent leads a private tour of the galleries with insight on the artists and exhibits. The museum grounds overlook the National Elk Refuge and the Gros Ventre Range. Tonight enjoy a farewell drinks and a cowboy dinner and show at the Bar-J Ranch following the obligatory shoot-out! The dinner bell rings at 7pm with mouthwatering ribs, chicken and ribeye steak, along with a performance of local celebrity musicians, the Bar-J Wranglers.(B,D)
