THE ENCHANTING RHINE – A HOSTED MUSIC & CULTURE JOURNEY

From time to time, I’m invited into experiences that feel genuinely special, not because they’re flashy, but because they allow for connection, depth, and discovery. This Rhine River journey is one of those invitations, and I’d love to share it with you.

In the summer of 2027, I’ve been invited to host a week-long river voyage aboard the AmaFiora, an elegant, small, high-end ship carrying just 152 guests, sailing from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam. This is not a “music cruise” in the conventional sense, and it’s definitely not a floating arena or party ship. It’s a refined, immersive cultural journey designed for people who appreciate art, history, comfort, and meaningful shared experiences.

River cruising is very different from ocean cruising. We travel through the heart of Europe, docking directly in historic cities and towns, walking off the ship into centuries of architecture, culture, and beauty. Days are spent exploring medieval villages, vineyards, cathedrals, and landscapes that feel lifted from another time. Evenings bring us back together in an intimate setting where conversation, music, and atmosphere naturally unfold.

I’ll be offering three musical performances during the week, but these are not traditional concerts. Think of them more as intimate musical gatherings, exploratory, spontaneous, personal, moments where music, stories, and context intersect. These are the kinds of experiences that can only happen in a small room with a limited audience, not in a theater or stadium. I’ll also be around throughout the week, sharing meals, conversations, laughs, and the simple pleasure of being in an extraordinary place together.

This is a high-end experience, thoughtfully curated, comfortable, unhurried, and designed with care. If the idea of a large cruise ship doesn’t resonate with you, I completely understand, this is something else entirely. It’s closer to a moving boutique hotel, a cultural salon, a shared journey among like-minded travelers.
