L’Austral was launched in 2011, as the second in a series of three 264-passenger, 10,600-ton cruising yachts commissioned by Compagnie du Ponant. Designed for expedition cruising, L’Austral is able to call at iconic, international ports as well as small harbors inaccessible to larger cruise ships, especially suitable for cruising the coastal waters of Iceland.
