Angelina Mondavi is a fourth-generation winemaker devoted to advancing her family’s Napa Valley legacy through precision, stewardship, and innovation. The only member of her family to pursue winemaking professionally, she carries forward the standards established by her grandfather, Peter Mondavi Sr. at Charles Krug. At the winery she oversees all winemaking from vineyard to bottle, with a balance of tradition and a contemporary, vineyard-driven approach.

Her connection to the craft is deeply personal. Raised on the Charles Krug estate, Angelina’s childhood was shaped by vineyard life—riding harvesters at dawn, helping in the cellar during crush, and sitting beside her grandfather as he blended wines at the family table. By age ten, she knew she wanted to dedicate her life to the family business. That legacy spans generations: her grandfather led winemaking from 1945 to 1990, her father Marc continued the tradition from 1990 onward, and Angelina now leads the next chapter. Angelina has said, “This isn’t just a job—it’s my calling”. “I’ve poured my heart and soul into the wine business from a very young age, always with the hope that one day I would help carry my family’s legacy forward.”

Angelina’s philosophy unites heritage with technical expertise. She earned a degree in chemistry with a business minor from Villanova University and a Master’s in Oenology from the University of Adelaide. Across more than 35 harvests on three continents—including Napa Valley, Australia, and Argentina—she has crafted highly acclaimed wines recognized for balance, precision, and expressive character.

Over the past few years, we have taken our wine club members on two different European river cruises on the waterways of Bordeaux and the Danube. In 2027 we are opting for a uniquely American experience, a deep dive into New Orleans, the “Big Easy”, home to Jazz, Creole cuisine, great restaurants, the historic French Quarter, mysterious bayous and magnificent 19th century homes.
