RAVINES WINE CELLARS

Ravines is an artisanal estate winery in the glacier-carved Finger Lakes wine region of Upstate New York. Started in 2000 by French-trained Oenologist, Morten Hallgren and his wife, Lisa farm 130 acres of certified sustainable estate vineyards on the steep limestone and shale stone slopes of Seneca Lake. Ravines pioneered a style of bone dry and mineral-tinged Riesling with their first vintage in 2002 and are known for producing expressive, cool-climate wines with a real sense of place, in the European tradition. Ravines is also a notable producer of sparkling wines made in the Methode Champenoise.

Ravines Wine Cellars has garnered awards and accolades with their first vintage in 2002 and has since been touted by every major wine magazine for their polished and elegant wines. They were named four times to Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of the World, Top 100 Wines by Wine Enthusiast, Wine & Spirits Top 100 Wineries of the World, as well as featured in Decanter, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, NY Times, Wall Street Journal and Forbes.

This is a special cruise down the Blue Danube, from Vilshofen Bavaria to Budapest Hungary. There’s also a special 3-night pre-cruise tour of delightful Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, a beautiful city never destroyed during WWII, and a 4-night post-cruise tour of Hungary’s Tokaji wine region and Budapest.
